ThyssenKrupp Elevator strengthens its position in North America
ThyssenKrupp Elevator has acquired all assets of Cleveland, Ohio-based Edmonds Elevator, Inc. The US company, founded in 1875, provides elevator maintenance, repair and modernization services.
“The acquisition continues our international growth strategy and strengthens our service business in the USA,” said Andreas Schierenbeck, CEO of ThyssenKrupp Elevator AG. “Edmonds Elevator has an excellent reputation with its customers. Its strong local presence provides a solid platform from which to intensify our activities in the region in the future.”
ThyssenKrupp Elevator has been pressing ahead with acquisitions of established small and medium-size elevator companies in the USA for several years – including United Elevator Company in Philadelphia and General Elevator in Orlando – to support ThyssenKrupp’s strategic development and expand its technology business.
