Law to increase the proportion of women in leadership positions
Under the May 2015 law on the equal participation of women and men in leadership positions in the private and public sector, certain companies in Germany are required to set targets for the proportion of women on the supervisory board, executive board, and the two management levels below, and to specify a deadline for meeting these targets.
thyssenkrupp has been pursuing a Groupwide strategy to promote diversity since 2013. Among other things we aim to achieve a 15 percent proportion of women in all the Group’s leadership positions by 2020.
For the Business Area Elevator Technology, this applies to the following legal entities: thyssenkrupp Elevator AG, thyssenkrupp Aufzüge GmbH, and thyssenkrupp Aufzugswerke GmbH. Here you can find the individual targets for these entities.
thyssenkrupp Elevator AG has set new targets for the time after June 30, 2017 for the proportion of women on the supervisory board, executive board, and the two management levels below. The implementation period is until June 30, 2022.
The Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp Elevator AG set a target of 18.75 percent women on the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp Elevator AG. For the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp Elevator AG a target of 30 percent women was set. In addition, for the first and second management levels, the Executive Board has adopted a target of 20 and 25 percent women.
