Advanced Visual Docking Guidance System (A-VDGS)

Advanced Visual Docking Guidance Systems (A-VDGS)

Aircraft docking made easier

The thyssenkrupp A-VDGS, formerly FMT APIS, is the most advanced docking guidance system on the market. Its features include:

  • Long-range Azimuth guidance right from the taxiway
  • Operating range of more than 200 meters
  • Automatic activation

A-VDGS explained

As global air traffic continues to rise, VDGS is an integral solution in ensuring safe, smooth and efficient arrivals and departures. At the ACI North America, our VDGS expert Joachim Brink explains how this technology works in order to help avoid costly delays for airport operators, airlines, and passengers.

Interface with iGMS

Our A-VDGS is available with a standard interface, making it possible for any operator to incorporate the guidance system into their airport. All relevant aircraft information is communicated through the docking system which can be automatically activated without any manual intervention.Find out more about iGMS
